The Start of a Strong Community
A year ago, PORCH was officially launched as a safe place for immigrant entrepreneurs to gather and support each other through their journeys and to help them grow their businesses.
The culture we created together attracts people who understand that you 'give to get.' PORCH is for those who want to help each other succeed through sharing experiences, asking questions, joining events, and making new relationships.
We have learned so much together and formed so many new relationships. Below is a quick recap of some highlights of PORCH 2023.
30+ Virtual PORCH Talks
PORCH ran over 30 virtual sessions! From learning events with incredible speakers and industry leaders to community networking and support sessions. We are excited to continue these into 2024 with over 50 sessions!
Our first live event will always be remembered – a dinner in Toronto at Cibo Wine Bar. We invited some of our first members, a few of our ambassadors, and some amazing partners.

The First of Many World-Class Potlucks
In October, we hosted the inaugural PORCH Potluck and to say it was incredible would be an understatement. It was special
The potluck had people from 15 countries all in one room with food from all over the world!
It was a celebration of YOU. It was a celebration of every immigrant entrepreneur in the community and in Canada.
It was so good that 2024 will include quarterly potlucks!! More information to come.
A Year of Powerful Partnerships
We couldn't be more proud of the powerful partnerships that have been made over the past year. Finding organizations that align with the mission we have here at PORCH has been very important to us. And we believe this group of companies is exactly that.

You asked, and we listened. We have been collecting feedback and listening to PORCH members since we launched and 2024 will be a lot more of what you asked for - more events, more in-person, and more of the love and support that PORCH is known for.
Weekly Virtual PORCH Talks
We will host 50+ virtual sessions in 2024. Over 20 have already been scheduled. We have been listening to feedback and requests and picked a wide variety of topics valuable to the immigrant entrepreneur journey!
PORCH will be hosting quarterly in-person Potlucks with the first one in March! More info to come...
Bi-monthly Dinner Series
PORCH will be hosting bi-monthly exclusive PORCH dinners starting in February.

It has been an amazing first year of PORCH. The discussions, support, and love that we have seen in the community are more than we ever hoped for. Seeing people from all over the world coming together to help one another succeed in their journeys as immigrant entrepreneurs is a beautiful thing.
