For some of our members, this will be their first-ever sporting event in Canada.
First loonie dogs night hot dog. First 7th inning stretch. First time learning what a rally cap is and joining in.
We’re heading to a Toronto Blue Jays game as a club. Summer deserves a proper send-off and entrepreneurship doesn’t have to be all coffee shops and Slack messages.
Sometimes it looks like high-fives in the nosebleeds. Sometimes it’s explaining the rules of baseball with way too much confidence. And sometimes it’s just being together, celebrating wins (on and off the field).
We're excited to share that PORCH is an official Community Partner at Elevate Festival 2025!
From October 7 to 9, leaders, builders, and bold thinkers will come together to celebrate Canadian innovation, and we’re proud to be part of it.
PORCH exists to support international entrepreneurs building their dreams. So being at Canada’s leading tech and innovation festival feels like the perfect fit. We’ll be there connecting with founders, sharing stories, and showing what happens when newcomers find the right people in their corner.
If you're attending #ElevateFest2025, come find us. Let’s build something together.
Just a casual space for members to drop in, connect, and talk about… whatever’s on your mind.
💬 Have a question about your business? 🤝 Want to meet other founders? 🧠 Need feedback or support? 🚀 Want to share a win or something you’re working on?
This is your time. Think of it as office hours meets open mic, with a room full of smart, kind people who get what you’re going through.
Whether you’re stuck, curious, excited, or just want to hang out, you’re welcome.
Come with questions or come to listen. Either way, you’ll leave with something valuable.
Join us for these upcoming PORCH Talk (virtual) sessions!

A little something to share from our friends at Innovation Factory on behalf of Femtech Canada.
Femtech Canada, the national women’s health innovation network operated by Innovation Factory, are excited to share the launch of Femtech Canada's first commercialization program, wHealth MedPath.
wHealth MedPath provides Canadian women's health technology companies the opportunity to leverage up to $20,000 worth in services to gain expert-led feedback and advisory support through projects with specialized partners (physician networks and investment groups, CROs, and CDMOs). Through the program, innovators will be empowered to navigate complex development, regulatory, and market challenges efficiently and accelerate the commercialization of their femtech solution.
Applicants are encouraged to apply before August 30, 2025.
Last August we planned a 50-person Blue Jays Game. Many of the 50 were attending their first-ever sporting event since coming to Canada.
We hosted a PORCH Potluck with Communitech in June. 150 people from 30+ countries where everyone brings a dish from their home country.
Nobody clicks “attend” on these events because of a speaker lineup or a swag promise. They showed up because it was something that brought everyone together to share a special experience together. It was Belonging.
Here’s the Belonging Blueprint our team lives by:
Vibe – We lead with a one-sentence mission that lets guests self-select fast whether the event is for them or not.
Venue – Living-room energy beats ballroom grandeur every time. Lower walls, open conversations.
Value – One takeaway guests can’t Google. They leave knowing exactly how to apply it tomorrow. (not a cliché panel one-liner or something from a presentation).
Voice – Let guests share, pitch circle, talks, whatever it is, not just keynotes and headliners. Everyone feels like a co-author, not a spectator.
We add small touches too. Prizes, surprise awards for most engaged attendee, raffles, you name it.
Great communities feel less like transactions and more like traditions.
Our next event... another Blue Jays game so we can have some summer fun! Stay tuned! 👂
What tiny tweak could move your next gathering in that direction? Share your idea below so we can all steal it.

Burnout and a trip to the ER.
Is that the new entrepreneur journey?
Kingsley thinks the concept of work-life balance is a myth, especially if you are an entrepreneur. Considering his analogy with kids and play, You would agree there's some sense in that.
The irony is that he did pay for his crushing schedule with burnout and a trip to the ER.
Kingsley M. recently joined us on the Unfiltered w/ PORCH with Dozie Anyaegbunam to talk about holding down three jobs while he built Expedier, why the traditional boundaries don’t work for entrepreneurs, and the brutal and sad reality about raising funds in Canada.
