PORCH 100 Report – We Want to Hear from YOU!
We’re building something beautiful. The PORCH 100!! 💚
100 real lessons from people who’ve done the hardest thing… started over somewhere new.
Whether you came here to build a business, chase a dream, create a better life for your family, or just try something different, we want to hear the one lesson you’d share with someone going through it now.
Big or small. Deep or practical.
Something that helped you keep going when things were hard. Or something you wish you knew when you first landed.
This is for the ones still figuring it out.
Your story might be exactly what they need to hear!!
Not every startup needs funding. But every founder needs to think like they might.
We just wrapped an incredible session last week with Paul Irving from GTMfund!
He broke down something most founders miss: 👉 Capital is not always the first step 👉 It is the outcome of clarity around what actually needs solving 👉 And when you realize capital is the constraint, you should have already started the conversation
In short: 📌 Get clear on your top business priorities 📌 Map out what it takes to solve them 📌 Start acting on them now 📌 Fundraising might come later but the prep starts today
More takeaways from the session: ✅ You can build more creatively now without capital than ever before ✅ Execution, GTM, and community are the new “moats” ✅ Founders with unique insights and “spiky” traits stand out ✅ Early traction matters but quality of signal beats revenue quantity every time
Huge thanks to Paul for sharing the inside scoop with our PORCH crew.
Women of PORCH Circle is a monthly virtual gathering for immigrant women entrepreneurs to share, reflect, and support each other… not just in business, but on the personal side of the journey. A space to exhale, connect, and leave with renewed clarity and energy.
The Women of PORCH Circle is a safe, uplifting monthly space for immigrant women entrepreneurs to connect beyond business metrics and titles.
Each month, we come together to:
Share stories and experiences in an open, respectful space
Listen without judgment and celebrate each other’s wins
Offer practical advice, encouragement, and resources
Leave feeling lighter, heard, and ready for the month ahead
🗓️ First Session is August 29th @ 1pm EST

When I think about community, I think about the places that quietly held us together. A friend's unfinished basement where everyone knew your name. A small soccer team where a parent with a whistle became everyone’s coach. Neighbours who noticed when your bike was left outside and brought it to your porch.
It was not fancy. It was just what people did.
Where is that now? Is it a LinkedIn feed? Is it a group chat? Is it a Zoom call with a chat window?
Screens keep us entertained, not held. Algorithms give us hits, not hugs.
We are more connected in theory, less connected in practice.
The result is showing up in real time. Loneliness on the rise. Trust on the decline. Division higher than ever. Rooms full of people who feel like strangers to each other and sometimes to themselves.
Humans are communal centric. We regulate with faces, voices, shared meals, repeated rituals. You cannot outsource that to a phone.
What I see building PORCH is simple and stubborn. Community still works the way it always did.
It needs a place. A living room. A cafe. A space. Somewhere you can point to and say meet me here.
It needs a rhythm. Repetition is how strangers become familiar and familiar becomes safe.
It needs a purpose. Not a pitch. A reason to gather that is bigger than any one person. Learn together. Eat together. Help each other grow.
It needs small leadership. One person who goes first. One person who sends the reminder. One person who brings the donuts without being asked.
It needs story. Tell people why this matters to you. Tell them what you are building toward. Invite them to shape it.
If you want to rebuild a village in a city:
Pick a restaurant. Make 3 reservations over the next 3 months.
Invite five people who should know each other. Ask each person to bring one more.
Open with one generous question. What would make next month easier for you?
Eat together. Food lowers the drawbridge.
End with a tiny promise. A follow up intro. A shared resource. A next date. Keep the promise.
You do not need a logo. You need a table. You do not need permission. You need a first step. The village we miss is waiting for someone to restart it.
If this resonates, try something small this week. Knock on a door. Host a walk. Text three people and say coffee next Friday at 9. I will be there. Bring a friend.
We are not meant to do life alone. Let’s practice being people again.

Unfiltered w/ PORCH 💚
Worried about what the Trump 2nd term could mean for immigrant entrepreneurs?
You’re not alone.
But here’s some real talk from our latest Unfiltered w/ PORCH episode:
Yes – the rhetoric is loud.
Yes – some visa categories have taken a hit.
👉 Over 500,000 people are in the U.S. right now on talent and investor visas.
👉 No widespread reports of denial or border issues for folks on O1s, E2s, or EB categories.
👉 When it comes to immigration, look at the policies, not the tweets.
Dozie Anyaegbunam sat down with Patrick Findaro from the U.S. on everything about moving to the states as an immigrant entrepreneur.
